DAY 1 : MARRAKECH TO DADES VALLEY VIA HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – AIT BEN HADDOU AND OUARZAZATE

Your trip from Marrakech to Fes desert tour 3-days starts with a pick up around 08:00 AM from your hotel/riad or anywhere you’re in Marrakesh. Leave the city, driving southeast through the High Atlas mountains where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of traditional Berber villages, as you’ll stop in some panoramic sights for pictures. Stop for lunch in Ait Ben Haddou village, here you’ll also visit the ancient and portentous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. The Kasbah or let’s say the “fortified village” has been protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1987, it’s a location where many famous movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, and Gladiator have been filmed.

After a short drive to Ouarzazate, you’ll stop to see the largest studio in Africa, it’s optional to visit it from inside. Then head to Boumaine, passing the Valley of Roses on the way. DAY 2 : BOUMALNE → TINGHIR OASIS TODGHA CANYON AND MERZOUGA DESERT

After a tasty breakfast, we’ll drive to Tinghir where we’ll stop in an impressive viewpoint to an incredible oasis full of palm trees and many kasbahs. You’ll have an opportunity to walk under the great Canyon of Todgha, which was cut by the Todgha River. The gorge is 300 meters deep.

When we arrive in Merzouga, your luggage will be taken by a 4×4 vehicle to your camp while you’re going on a camel trek. Watch brilliantly red and orange sunset over the Erg Chebbi, Spend an unforgettable night in the Sahara desert with locals, playing drums, sharing stories, and watching a starry sky.

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA TO FES VIA ZIZ VALLEY AND MIDDLE ATLASIFRANE

An early start this morning is rewarded with a tranquil and gorgeous sunrise. After a delicious breakfast in the camp, you can choose to leave the camp by camel trekking back or by a 4×4 vehicle. Leave Merzouga, driving to Fez. On the way, you’ll stop in a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley, the valley is full of palm trees and some villages. In the Cedar forest of the Middle Atlas, you may see some Barbary Apes, they’re one of the few species to live in a cold climate . Stop in Ifrane city for a break and a coffee , the city is called the Switzerland of Morocco.

We visited Morocco in July 2022 and we wanted to hit trip from Marrakech, and the Sahara. I emailed Visit Morocco Sahara that we would fly in from Marrakech and wanted to visit the Sahara and Fes. They arranged a tour that would be three days starting from Marrakech one day to the Sahara, on in the Sahara, and the last day to Fes. At first, I thought this was going to be a very touristic experiance but our driver made sure that it was very local. We had Said as our driver and he was amazing! He taught us a lot about Morocco and gave us a taste of local life. He spoke very good English with us. In the Sahara, the campsite was very nice and luxurious. Our tent had a patio, four beds, a small table and cushions, a private bathroom with a toilet, a sink, and a shower. The dinner was excelent and had very good food. At night, there was a music festival with dancing. The camels were very fun to ride and made it a very unique experiance. The car was very comfortable to ride in and made the trip very easy. The Sahara Desert was absolutly beautiful and I wish to return.

Before our trip, I asked hundreds of questions via email and WhatsApp. Said, the owner, was tremendously patient. He answered all my questions in a timely matter. The tour turned out to be exactly as what he'd promised, or even better. We are a group of seven people, including three kids. Our driver, Abdo, was super nice, polite and knowledgeable.
